Well not exactly new news...We have been asked a number of times by our home users how they should go about protecting their children from harmful websites, a growing concern for all parents. The most comprehensive website we have come across for guidance and advice is SaferInternet.net:
"Safer Internet is an awareness campaign promoted under the SafeBorders project, which is partly funded by the European Commission, under the Safer Internet Action Plan. Safer Internet's objective is to work together, seeking collaboration and support with all sectors of the Internet industry, to improve the protection of children and minors on-line."
Check out the site, and if you still have concerns or would like help implementing any protective measure, please get in touch with us here at TechDivision on the usual number.

Have you been a victim of an internet scam? Although, we all think we're clued up on all the scams out there we still need to be vigilant.
It still happens and even the most internet savvy of us can be caught out, take this example:
'A customer of ours recently received an email from Barclays Bank asking them to verify their login details, on clicking on the hyperlink to Barclays website they were asked to complete their details as they would normally, however this was an exact replica of the Barclays website cleverly built to the finest detail. Our customer was then debited £3000 in funds.'
Fortunately in this example the bank was sympathetic, but this is not always the case. Please take care and look out for the latest scams.
